This seems like a rather more basic version of http://drupal.org/project/sitedoc - could you explain the differences?

I had a look at the two modules and the biggest difference is who I target. The colophon module is a way to show to site visitors what was used to develop the site. Basically a more detailed "Powered by Drupal". It is a way for the site developer to give credit and show links to modules and themes used.

The two (very handy) modules mentioned are for the developer only. I will update the project page to state the function of this module more clearly.
