stewestHi. I also just found this in this update.
Certain html code was being removed when I edited a page. Specifically, in my case, style attributes on images (img widths etc, even though they were added by CKEditor itself through the add image dialogue box).
I found that if I switched off "security filter: HTML filter" for admin users (CKeditor's advanced user role - NB: watch your roles security / permissions here) at admin/settings/ckeditor/edit/Advanced - it fixed the problem.
If you read the CKEditor Readme file there is a list of extra html elements / tags you may want to allow your "full html" filter to use. You may even want to create a new input filter for super users who may use the WYSIWYG editor with extra html tag allowances.
Whether is is a bug or not I'm not sure. It seems to more be a security feature requiring some additional changes elsewhere.

ukal commentedThanks for that, worked a treat but I was able to keep HTML filter and Plain text switched on and switched off all the other Security filters.
clintthayer commentedRunning into the same issue - perhaps? Go to insert an image - everything works well. Hit save - everything looks fine. Click edit and the img tag is completely gone!
I turned off the "security filter: HTML filter" on the Advanced HTML profile, but the issue still remains.
Am I missing something?
jvieille commentedUsing latest dev - same problem.
All security filters have to be checked off. A single one breaks all formatting on edit.
laamka commentedI am having the same problem. I turned off the html filter but the images still won't show.
luthien commentedhaving the same problem, installing the WYSIWYG Filter module did not help to fix the problem. The latest 6.x-1.11 has too many bugs, including the "Enter a valid toolbar configuration" error message after trying to edit a profile's toolbar.
mkesicki commented@luthien
problem should be fixed in latest DEV
Comment #8
laamka commentedI found a solution that worked for me. Go into the php.ini file and find a line magic_quotes_gpc = On and turn it off.

mkesicki commentedPlease also check #1554546: CKEditor/IMCE suddenly not working? - CKEditor changing image embed code on save
Comment #10
sgdev commentedThis does not fix the issue. We're running on dedicated servers, and I have set
magic_quote_gpc = offin php.ini. phpinfo() clearly says it's turned off and we're still having a problem. If I have any security filters enabled in the CKEditor profile, then existing nodes "disappear" when in edit mode. The process is as follows:
The security filters strip out all existing content, and the only way to get it to work is to turn off all CKEditor security filters. I consider this to be a critical issue with 1.11. We are rolling back to a previous version until this is fixed or there is a clearer answer on how to repair it.
sgdev commentedAs an update, I have downgraded to 6.x-1.10 and the CKEditor security filters are no longer causing existing nodes to be rendered as empty.
luthien commentedThe same happened to me after updating to 1.11 but I fixed the problems by installing and configuring the wysiwyg filter. Everything works fine now (dedicated servers) and setting up set magic_quote_gpc = off in php.ini fixed it for sites in the hosted servers (i.e. bluehost).

dczepierga commented@ron_s, so could u PM me url with access to your Drupal? Then i will check it and try to fix it asap - without this i cannot fix sth which i cannot reproduce in any of our webservers...
I appreciate any help to fix this problem...
sgdev commented@dczepierga, we're under tight deadline on our project and the site is password protected. We are going to launch with 6.x-1.10 and will revisit this later. I will let you know when the site is publicly available so you can check it out. Thanks for following up on it.
pavithra.raman commented@ron_s, dczepierga: Any updates? I am getting this issue too. When I try to edit my content using the CKEditor, any image embedded in that content gets stripped of its style attribute when loaded.
sgdev commentedWe've just decided to stay at 6.x-1.10 for now and the client is not interested in further updates at this time. I'll report back if we look into this further, but I doubt it will be reviewed anytime soon.
luthien commentedHi Ron, if you install wysiwyg filter module and configure it, you should get the ckeditor working as it should be.
dczepierga commented@pavithra.raman, we don't make any changes/fixes for this, because i cannot reproduce this so i cannot any fix. If u give me access to your Drupal site and write how to reproduce this i will try to fix it asap... Now i can't do anything with it
Greetings
Comment #19
kueblert commentedgot the same issu
this is so nasty
i try now to switch off html filter
plz help
if u wana try out how the issu work:
upload an image in the text area and minimize this image in den editor. (height:10px width:10px)
save the node and then edit it...the image shows now the original width and hight size
### EDIT
if i switch of the html filter it solves the mistake...
dczepierga commented@kueblert, so try WYSIWYG Filter and configure it... We cannot do anything with it - HTML Filter from Drupal works as it works and we cannot change anything on it...
Summary:
Solution to the problem in to disable HTML Filter in CKEditor profile ("Security" section) and after does install and configure e.g. WYSIWYG Filter instead...
For now i closed this issue. If u have more problems with it pls reopen this issue or create new.
Greetings
