It would be nice if, instead of requiring extra [caption] tags, the filter provided the option to turn title attributes into captions.
All WYSIWYG editors would then be supported without any extra work. That is, as long as they support title attributes.

mstrelan CreditAttribution: mstrelan commentedWhat about if you want some images to have captions and some to not have captions (but retain their title tags). I think if there was a class or a rel attribute that was added this would work quite nicely.

quicksketchThe entire purpose of this module is to support WordPress-style captions, which use the square-bracket [caption] syntax. If you'd like to use the title field as the caption you should use http://drupal.org/project/image_caption and its child module image_caption_filter. They're alternative approaches to the same problem for sure, but each has its own merits.
