rjb commentedHi,
It should work out-of-the-box :)
So if you hover over a date with events (the date is underlined) on a calendar block, nothing happens?
If you use Explorer, then Beautytips requires the excanvas library, maybe that's the problem.
Otherwise you may want to look at the page source (HTML code) of your page, to check if the code for the balloon is actually inserted. It should look something like this:
Could you please check if that code appears in your page source?
Cheers,
Ronald

markosaurus commentedHi there,
First off, what a great module if we can get this working, thanks for all your hard work.
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I'm having exactly the same problem. I have calendar set up and working fine, but I've just installed the calendar_tooltips module and I don't see anything happening either. I've checked the source code and it's there, it's just not being activated (see below);
This is the output for one table cell which has an event, nothing happens when you hover it.
I've tried it on a few of the different views and it would appear the code is always there if there is meant ot be an event, but nothing happens on hover.

markosaurus commentedHi again rjb,
Just a quick update to tell you how stupid I am!
I had written a new theme for the D6 site I'm developing and guess what? I'd included the styles array, but not the scripts array!
This is now working for my block view with no problems at all.
@momper - I would check that you have the required scripts being called before anything else if the code is showing in your site.

machi27 commentedHi,
I believe i have the same problem here, I have a calendar running and everything works fine, but after adding the calendar tooltip module nothing happens. I just keep seeing the same calendar with no changes, do i have to configure anything in the beautytips?
I also tried to make a new view (as a block) but nothing... do i have to set any field with a value on the views to make this work?
Weird things that are happening after installing the module and running the update.php is that i still have the mesg saying that i have to run the update.php on the modules page...
I have tried in firefox, opera and chrome but nothing...
i have searched for the code that you describe in a previous post but couldnt find it..
Thanks...

rjb commentedHi,
The message about update.php is very strange...
Regarding your questions: no configuration or modification is necessary in Beautytips or views. If your calendar block has some days highlighted (days with events) then it should work. One thing to watch out for is to use the latest versions of both Calendar tooltips (1.7) and Beautytips (2.0).
Also, try to disable other modules temporarily in order to see if there is any conflicting module. I remember a post of someone who reported a component that included its own jquery library, or something like that. However I cannot find this post. I will look that up.

machi27 commentedThanks for answering and developing such a good module,
I'm using the latest version of these modules, i can see that the beutytips is working, so i guess that it should e related to calendar tool. Yes that messg is really weird, normally after running update.php desapear but now it doesnt.
I think this could be due to:
1. because of the way that i have configured my calendar, i am not using a small calendar, and normally i can see the events inside the active day.
2. something is wrong with my drupal instalation...
Gonna try what you said...
one question pls... calendar popup ad calendar ical modules should be active??
thanks
I have this error in my dblog Parsed JavaScript file misc/jquery.js. could it be related???
rjb commentedThanks!
I think I understand what's going on here. The calendar tooltips module only works on a calendar block (the mini calendar), or on a year view (because the year view is actually a bunch of mini calendars: one mini calendar for each month). You mentioned that you are not using a small calendar, so I guess you are using a month view. Unfortunately Calendar tooltips does not operate on month views. That's what the calendar popup module is for. These 2 modules have nothing to do with each other, so you can safely use only one of them, or use them both. There is a feature request for getting calendar tooltips to work on month views, but that requires a lot of work and I don't have much spare time these days so implementing it may take a while.
The calendar popup module indeed makes the event descriptions disappear, but when you click on that day, the event description appears in a nice balloon. That module does not require beautytips. Its disadvantage however is that you have to click on a day (no mouse hover support), the balloon is quite large, and it does not work on a mini calendar. That's when my module (calendar tooltips) comes in ;-)
I hope that clears things up a bit. By the way, the calendar ical module has nothing to do with balloons. It's for importing/exporting events I guess.
The jquery.js generates some warning messages. There should not be any error messages, though. Could you please post these messages?
Anyway, hope this helps.

PI_Ron commentedHi,
Thanks for your work with this module.
I'm having trouble getting it working. It works fine in the views live preview. But not on my pages.
My pages are layed out in panels, and I have added the view - calendar block to my panels page. But they tooltips arnt popping up. The source for the tooltips is there I can see it.
Also Ive looking hard at the 'Fields' section of calendar block, and block view, I can't see anything to do with calendar tooltips?
Thanks,
Tim

machi27 commentedI believe that you are making the same mistake that i made.
did u activate in blocks "calendar-block"???, not the view that u created.
hope it works

markgr commentedHi,
I too am having the same issue. It to also works in live preview. But it will not display the tooltips popup. I have it displayed as a calendar block and I can see the fields in firebug.
Am i missing something here?
Thanks
Comment #19
rjb commented@#18: Are you using panels as well, like #16? Or is it a regular calendar block?
markgr commentedNo I am using a custom built theme. It seems to work fine in the live preview.
markgr commentedHi, Any ideas?
markgr commentedI have managed to work the issue out. $scripts was missing from my page template. Thanks anyway.

rjb commented@#16: Do you still have this problem? I just tried panels but I could not find anything wrong. It works ok here.
