This is a backport of the Drupal 7 cache implementation to use with Drupal 6. No release will be made for Drupal 7. By using the Drupal 7 cache system you can use the Drupal 7 versions of cache backends:
* APC
* Memcache
Similar functionality can be found in the CacheRouter module which is a different implementation then drupal 7 core which also allows to use different cache backends.
