Is there a way to assign blocks to the grid with out modifying the template?

For example: I assign three blocks to a header region. I want the first block to be span2, the second block to be span6 and the third to be span4.

Do I have to modify the template to make that work? Or is there way to do that in the settings?

You could try adding the span classes to each block using the Block Class module.

Thanks. I did try that after I posted my question. Just wasn't sure if I was missing something with the theme.
