I tried this with the demo block as well as with views blocks.
jQuery Update: v1.8

In my console I can see the XMLHttpRequest firing every 10 seconds. But the block content is not updating. I disabled boost and other caching.
It's not theme related. It's not working in the backend with Seven either.

Can you help me out?
