Creating a new biblio or editing one is unbearably slow [#1064096]

Hello,
I just installed the Bibilography module and it seems to be a good one. However, when I want to create a new biblio (add content - biblio) or want to edit an existing publication, it takes forever for the create/editing page to load. The progress bar jumps back and forth and Firefox comes to a hold.
It is so bad that this will force me to look for something else, the load time is longer than a minute.
Any ideas?

That length of time is definitely not typical (at least none of my systems take that long, nor has anyone else ever mentioned this).

In my experience, the edit form takes no more than a second or two to load. I suspect there may be some negative interaction with another module causing this issue. Unfortunately, this might be rather time consuming to track down because you will have to start disabling modules until the problem goes away.

Hi Ron,

I tracked down this issue to Firefox. In Safari, it works fine (I am on a Mac). When I start Firefox in Safe Mode, it also works ok, but as soon as I go out of Safe Mode it becomes unbearable, I just timed it and it takes between 30 and 50 seconds to load the Edit page (everything else, like the publication entry itself, loads quickly). I tried to pinpoint it down on a Add-On in Firefox, but even without Add-Ons (when not in Safe Mode), it takes forever. The only Add-On that seems to make a big difference is the 1Password Add-On: when disabled it loads in 30 seconds, with the Add-On enabled it takes more like 45.

Not sure whether this helps.

Hmmm, I use Firefox almost exclusively, so I'm not sure it's an FF issue (must be the Mac :-) Just kidding.

Is this installation publicly accessible (so I can give it a try)?

Actually, I just found out that it is the FCKeditor. When disabled, the 'Edit' page loads immediately (or when I exclude the Biblio module from FCKeditor).

With it enabled, Firefox is trying to load something over and over again; it shows the progress bar in very quick succession several times for up to 45 seconds. I checked the Firefox Error Console and I copied the output in a text file (see attached) (note: I replaced my domain name with mydomain.com, it is not online yet).

By the way, I tried with Firefox on a PC, same result... ;-)

Interesting, I've also used FCK with biblio and not seen this interaction. What version of FCK are you using? Maybe you should bring this issue to the FCK issue queue and see if they have any insights.

Hi Ron,

I am using the 6.x-2.x-dev version. I had the 6.x-2.1 version before, it was the same with both. Well, for now the workaround helps but it is still strange. I will post this as an issue on the FCK module page.
