Drupal has a core upload module which is quite good. Quite, yet not perfect.
I decided to fork this module, yet keep it in sync with the core module as much as possible. then one day, we can say: hey look, betterupload is far better then the core one, why not replace it. Instead of discussing hours and hours in issues we can finally /do/ something. Get involved. Add your ideas, patches, commits and stuff here.
But most of all, we can now (im)prove something before putting it in core.
Note that, since this is a moving, working project it will most probably not work at all. It is meant for developers to work on, not for you to deploy :)
