Status of this project

Initially, this was just a simple email client to address a client's needs to have his 100+ employees check their company email in a single place, and not have to support 10+ different email clients. The reason for creating the module as opposed to using something else already available is that I wanted to integrate it with the website they already had in place, and there was nothing else available at the time.

Over time, my plans changed, such that I wanted to create an email client that I could and would use as my primary email client, and that would address all the functionality I wanted in a client, without all the problems and deficiencies. I had found in those I used.

That has yet to materialize, mostly due to the fact that I am doing it in my spare time, and that has diminished considerably over the last two years, since my family has been living nomadically.

I still have a desire to do that which I planned, but I am currently focused on a different side project that I am putting all of my extra time and energy into.

As far as porting to D8, for me, that won't happen until I finish my changes to the D7 version, if at all. The port to D8 will be another complete re-write without any additional functionality, and that is something I am not looking forward to.

In the #D7CX: Drupal 7 stable release status section of the project page, I outlined (and updated) my plans. Those plans did start, and I do have a 2.x branch that first integrated with Views and VBO, which I have just made public (even though there is not a tagged release) and updated with what I had completed up to that time. I have not completed that process, however, and that is where it stalled.
