First of all, this is a great module!
I think it would be beneficial if this module can integrate with Serial Field Module so that when creating a new node, a unique serial number that can be used as a barcode is generated automatically.

I've done it using RULES modules. Just populate the barcode field with the value generated by the serial one.

Hi,

basically you should add a new rule that fills for you the barcode when new content is created starting from the serial field. The steps are:

  1. create a new rule
  2. trigger it on the event: 'after new content is saved'
  3. set some condition on the type of the content (optional)
  4. use 'populate a field' (under CCK category) as action
  5. choose your barcode CCK field
  6. Use the token of your serial field : [node:field_YOUR_TOC_SERIAL_FIELD-id] -- I don't remember why I didn't use the token but the follow php code:
return array( 0 => array('barcode' => [node:field_MY_FIELD_NAME-id]));

I have many not to understand .....(perhaps my english is not good).....
Perhaps I have a lot of module not to install yet....
can you list how many modules do I install?
if you can take a video and put on website I will appreciation ,think you.

You should understand the Rules module before. have a look at the screencast I've linked in my previous post.

When understood Rules module you will be able to do the 3,4 steps.
For step 6 you need Token module, instead.

So start downloading, installing and playing with:

Rules module
Token module

and of course Serial and Barcode modules.

Really sorry but I've no time to make a screencast.
