Why not call it something that describes its functionality?

Unless of course you plan to backport a ton of unrelated D8 changes. In which case, Backports (or D8 Backports) make sense!

Another dumb question:

Can you explain the functionality added by these D8 UI features? I activated the module and haven't noticed any changes.

The module's current functionality is limited to the Field UI, so you won't notice a difference unless you're creating or editing fields.

I just added a note to the project page that lists the current features. Listing every single feature of the module on the project page probably isn't scalable, but it does work well for now :)
