Currently it is possible to enter the number of columns and the vertical gutter between these columns (standard this is 10px). However the gutter is used for every column. For some themes the side gutters are not the same as the standard gutter. With a separate side-gutter is it possible to have e.g. a margin of 25px for the first and last column, while the standard gutter of 10px is or the rest of the columns.

Is it possible to add this functionality?

No, this would mis-align the grid system and break your design.
