Are tehre plans to use cck filefield as the backend for this instead of flashnode?

Sounds like an especially good idea for Drupal 7. I'll likely take that route when/if I do the upgrade. (Patches welcome!)

Since flashnode is not strictly required, anyone could theoretically write a module to allow this in the current versions. I'm unlikely to do so myself, but I am inclined to make any necessary fixes to arcade to make this more feasible. It's very possible I've included assumptions pertaining to flashnode that should be abstracted.
