I don't know what values to put in the logic compare field. E.g. to filter only Facebook Status types.
Is it a string or a number?

Just committed a fix in the dev version. You may need to clear your Views cache at admin/build/views/tools. The filter will now let you choose which alert type(s) to use from a list.
