under the notes it says - You must configure the settings before any alerts will appear.

Ive checked this a few times, and on all tries the whole bar didint show, (not just the alerts) up untill I saved configurations at admin/settings/appbar/display. even when I kept them as default

I thought that there was problems with my installation or something, as nothing was showing up. Im just making the post to help save time of other people that think that they have installation problems.

I've just committed a change which makes the defaults more reasonable.
