hi guys,

i got a bad problem

i use a custom usernode template to show the annotate form.

if i access the view directly with arg "uid is author" OR "node id = usernode_id" the annotate will shown and i can modify / save it.

but if i embed the annotate form on my custom profile page i will see the annotate in the form but i cannot modify it.

if i click on save the message "successful saved" will shown but nothing will change.

what should i do?

greets

Lausch

A user is not a node. So we cannot fix this in the current setting.

hi clemens,

yes i have to re open, sorry i think my description was bad.

ok look...

i use USERNODE as profile so my profile is a node.

AND if i open the view from edit mode:

admin/build/views/annotate/"NODE_ID"
with arg "Node: ID"

IT WILL WORK!

but if i embed this view into another place, the form and the entry
(previously created from admin/build/views/annotate/"NODE_ID")
will shown but i cannot make changes!

i can only make changes if i edit the annotate on admin/build/views/annotate/"NODE_ID"
not as embed view.

so where is the problem?

Thanks for the extra info.

I'll try to replay your problem.

One question though ... is annotation working on other node types?
(checkout the latest dev version please. There're some extra's added)

hi,

you don't need usernode to get this "error"!

i tried many things today to find out wheres the problem...

OK listen

try the following:

create a content type called "annotate"

create a new content now

../node/add/annotate

write some stuff in and save the node.

now you get the node id, for example "123"

now create a node-annotate.tpl.php and save it into your theme directory.

open the file and add the following code:

print $node->content['annotate_form']['#value'];

and save the file

now create a view called annotate

create field -> node id
create filter -> content type is one of "annotate"
create argument -> node id

save the view

now include this view on any other place like user profile or another node

for example create a new page

in the body write:

$view = views_get_view('annotate');
print views_build_view('embed', $view, array(123), false, 1); //123 is the node id

filter php code.

save the node

now you see the annotate form for node 123

and now what i find out:

it works on any place on other nodes and views...

BUT IF i use node load to get fields of my usernode (or other)

and also include the annotate form on this page, it will only SOMETIMES work....

on my site i use a custom userprofile tpl where i also load a node and get fields from this node and there i also include the view for the annotation form coz i don't know how to render the annotate form with node load....

so if you try node load 123 and load some fields and also the annotate view. it seems not longer working

so what the hell i should do... :-(

Dear Lausch,

to begin with ... thanks for the conscious steps to reproduce.

After reading the previous instructions my guess is you're encountering a naming collision. Not really but things got mixed up.

The annotation module provides a FORM to ADD to nodes. So when theming your annotation NODE (node-annotate.tpl.php) it only shows an annotation FORM when configured this relation through the annotation module settings.

So you don't need a node_load what so ever to get the annotation FORM into a theming template for a specific node type.

When it comes to theming of the FORM we could now file an issue because there is no theming possible for the annotation FORM. But it is added right now ;-)

So my guess is we can close this issue. Right?
