manage synonyms? [#160558]

Hi,
first of all thanks for alink module as is ;-) nevertheless
will it be possible to define a set of synonyms in some future version?

I mean X Words/Phrases sharing the same URL/URL title/External_link etc. attributes as one definition.

This will help me (and others as I hope;-) ) to manage more words at ease (compared to adding independent full alink definitions, which is of course possible now). FYI - there are many irregular words in my language

I'd love this too, though for an additional reason than the one you mention. We have Alinks set to only link the first instance of the keyword. Adding each synonym separately could mean multiple links appearing. Whereas if Alinks allowed us to enter synonyms within a single record, we could ensure that phrase and its synonyms would only be linked once.

For example, linking to "Department of Energy" as a short-form synonym for the official name "U.S. Department of Energy". Adding a keyword for the short-form isn't ideal because then if the official name is used only part of it will be linked. Adding a keyword for the long form will miss when the short form is used. And adding both keywords will create two links if both the long and short forms are used within an article (which is common).
