Incompatible with Views Auto-Refresh (with ping script).

AJAX Links API is a great module - just what I needed for persistent audio. But there seems to be a conflict with the module Views Auto-Refresh and more specifically the ping script which I use to refresh the cover art when a new title plays. It is not working anymore.

On top of that I'm getting errors in the browser console:

Unfortunately I need to have the views refreshed by the ping script and I need all the links working with ajax for persistent audio. What can I do?
