node/add forms not loading in thickbox window

Using the July 11 6.x-1.x-dev release of this module and the thickbox module, node/add/story and node/add/my_content_type forms are not loaded in thickbox window even though the feature is enabled in the settings screen. I am using the links on the node/add screen. Could something else be blocking the behavior? Or should these be triggered differently?
