i have agg2 set up so that posts are published by default but no posts are promoted to the front page automatically. after manually promoting items to the front page, i notice that some of those nodes have their permissions set back to published but not promoted. it doesn't happen for all nodes.
i suspect this happens after a cron run when the source site modifies the node, but i'm not sure. the "Update existing items" setting is not checked.
it means content is disappearing from my front page which is a pretty big draw back to using the module.
lovely module otherwise...thanks for all the hard work!

Steve Dondley commentedI am experiencing the same with 4.7.

Steve Dondley commentedHack to fix problem:
Look for this line on or about line 2065:
db_query('UPDATE {node} SET promote = 0 WHERE nid IN (%s)', implode(',', $temp));
Just comment it out. It will also disable the automatic demotion of nodes from the front page but I find that feature rather useless anyway.

ron collins commentedthanks. i've made the change. i'll let you know if it doesn't work. i assume it will tho. pretty straight forward.

Steve Dondley commentedSetting to bug to "active" because the suggested hack is only a very temporary fix. Someone more familiar with the module may want to find a more permanent solution.

ahwayakchih commentedJust made a fix in CVS which stops agg2 from changing promotion of items if number of promoted items is set to "none".
