In developing my site, I noticed several problems with the display of the themed admin bar. These problems did not exist with the standard Administration menu theme. After playing with the inspector, I think I have narrowed it down to a few things:
My intent is to use Administration menu as a way of displaying only the Shortcuts menu (with account commands). As such, I am using exlusive or newline mode (newline seems to be best as it displays the Home icon).
Issue 1: Caches would often need to be flushed to display all shortcuts in the Administration area (using Adminimal theme)
I determined that the elements were rendering, but were not rendering correctly. Instead of displaying as a line, they were displaying vertically. Those below the shortcut menu were hidden. Adding the following to adminimal_admin_menu.css corrected this:
div.toolbar-shortcuts ul li {
display: inline-block;
}Issue 2: After correcting inline displays, extraneous padding was found around the menu.
This seems to be a conflict with the existing stylesheet for the admin menu. Fixed with the following addition to adminimal_admin_menu.css:
div.toolbar-shortcuts ul {
padding: 0 !important;
margin: 0;
}Issue 3: On the user side of Drupal, extra bottom padding exists as a result of a CSS conflict with the Administration menu's CSS files. The Home icon has 4px of padding that should not be there in Adminimal. Fixed by adding the following below Line 86 in adminimal_admin_menu.css:
padding-bottom: 0;

ANDiTKO commentedCommitted to the latest dev version. I must test your code modifications before pushing them to the stable version. So uninstall the stable and install the dev version. Also clear both site and user browser cache.
Thanks!
