First off, I really appreciate this module — it’s fantastic!!! (Should be in Core)
I’ve run into one persistent issue while building a sub-theme (D11 -Barrio Bootstrap 5): the header sits behind the admin toolbar. Would it be possible to add functionality that collapses the entire toolbar into a floating, Bootstrap-style toggle when viewed by an admin — or better yet, by our registered users as well?
I’m thinking especially about their experience while editing content. I’ve tried several CSS workarounds to hide and show it dynamically, but having this behavior built directly into the module would really elevate its UX to modern best practices.
With all the advancements in AI and front-end frameworks, I’m confident this enhancement is well within reach — it would make the module even more powerful and user-friendly.

dydave commentedThanks a lot @back from 7 for your support! 🙏
Maintaining this module takes a lot of time and efforts, so we really appreciate when we're told (sometimes) we're doing a good job! 😅
We also really appreciate when users take a bit more time to write a bit clearer tickets, such as yours. 👍
Have you tried the new Admin Toolbar option setting to hide/show the toolbar?
See at:
/admin/config/user-interface/admin-toolbarThe checkbox field:
Hide or show the toolbar with shortcut (Alt + p)See screenshot below :

Is that what you had in mind for this feature request?
Or would it still be something else/different?
Feel free to let us know if you have any questions or concerns on any aspects of this comment, or the module in general, we would surely be glad to help.
Thanks in advance!

back from 7 commentedThat fixed the issue! Thanks so much for taking the time to address my comment. My "superiors" are "visual" so beyond all the work I did that was their main concern...
Again - This should be in core. Is there a nomination process for that or how does that work?

dydave commentedThanks a lot @back from 7 once again for your prompt reply and positive confirmation! 🙏
It's probably a bit more complicated than that now 😅
See: #3449462: Future of Admin Toolbar if Toolbar is removed from Drupal core
The Drupal core Toolbar might be removed from core and moved to a contrib module.... so it is a bit unclear what direction the core development initiatives have taken 😅
But seeing the latest work and efforts on the core Navigation module, it doesn't look like the Admin Toolbar could really fit in the core development roadmap anymore 😖
In any case, with such a large base of users, you can count on the module to stay well maintained for a very long time 👍
Even if it depends on the contrib "Toolbar" module.
Thanks again very much for your support and help improving Admin Toolbar! 😊
