How is this different from http://drupal.org/project/admin_theme?
As far as I can see admin_theme does the same and more.

Ahh very good! Have searched for existing modules, but probably not good enough.

@casey: Your module 'admin_path' http://drupal.org/project/admin_path has a legitimate right to exist! Not everyone wants to use 'admin_theme' http://drupal.org/project/admin_theme. In a certain way, I think, 'admin_theme' seems to have become a bit obsolete, if one considers the base functionalities of Drupal7 in this context ... and if one adds a Devel block to the whole base thing, it almost replaces 'admin_theme'.

However, as discussed in #1026504: Add possibility/option to define custom paths, we don't really need a function to call the 'admin_theme' or whatsoever, what we need is a functionality to provide 'overlay' for all kinds of [self configurable] paths. Right? Wrong?

Just making sure, I've understood the essence of your activities correctly!

@the_phi, ok thanks I set maintenance status back. I am not entirely sure whether admin_theme will use the same strategy as this module for D7 either.

Agreed, it seems that admin_theme doesn't support forcing to open links in the overlay. so this module is still pretty useful, thanks!

... okay, great! I am going to check the module code more thoroughly asap. I would be glad to become a real contributor/co-maintainer, if time allows.
