The title says it all, I'm sending two screenshots to visualize this. (The first two screenshot are actually wrong -the correct one is "languages_settings_and _user_edit_page.png").

anybodyI can confirm this problem still exists!!
We need some eyes of the module maintainer on this. Simply switch to German for example for Admin and Site language. The selection on the user profile and the language stays English.
That makes the module absolutely useless eventhough it is absolutely helpful and important. Please help!
I've tested the current versions of course (stable and dev).

MedvedBr commentedSeems to me that this is not bug but simply not translated UI of module.
Try go to admin/config/regional/translate, search for "Default administration language" string and add german translation. Then go back to user profile and check, if this string is displayed in german. If yes, translate all others strings you want to german.
EDIT:
Ahh... Sorry. Just re-read the post and found that I misunderstood :-) However I can confirm, that I have default admin language displayed in same manner as you.

tramsaal commentedThis issue still exists!
What's the point of having this setting at all if it hasn't been fixed for 3 years?
Lack of a way to set default administration globally makes this module useless for me as well.

tanius commented@tramsaal (#5): This issue should *not* make the module useless for you. Only the label of the setting on the user edit form mentions the wrong default admin language. Choosing that option correctly determines and sets the user's admin language to your site's default admin language though — means this option works properly, it just has the wrong description.

tramsaal commentedtanius, it's not just the label, it's that you cannot properly set the default administration language!
I have a website with 300 users. The website is in language a.
I need to set the administration language on some of them - dozen or so to language b.
I cannot do that without affecting everyone else.
