It would be really helpful to be able to edit the title, description, and location of the event when inputting the time constraints in the content. Is it possible to surface these fields outside of the "Manage Display" tab?

Create the fields which you want to be editable in the content like title and location ,than use the tokens of those fields in manage display tab.
This will solve your issue.If you want more like integration with views ,try using add to calendar field in your content type.
Please do let me know if this solves your issue.

I tried using the existing title and body fields, but using those tokens in the Manage Display tab led to errors when loading the page with the calendar button on it.
