Problem/Motivation

After applying update to the AdaptiveTheme Release 7.x-3.4 to 7.x 3.5 did not update the current release such that it continued to send emails to update to 3.5, over and over again. Found a collection of .info files in the theme, but the one that triggered the continual, repeated application of updates was in /sites/all/themes/adaptivetheme/at_core/adaptivetheme.info, probably because it is a collection of theming tools. You can find the offending version near the end of the file, line 377 in the file I am looking at labeled as "7.x-3.4", simply changing this to "7.x-3.5" fixes the problem, unless there is some other reason to require applying this update multiple times.

Steps to reproduce

apply the update (7.x-3.5) then view the available updates report, it should still show the old release (7.x-3.4).

Can confirm.

You are seeing this because the theme cannot actually be updated using the website module updater and changing the .info files will not resolve the issue, it will only stop you receiving messages.
Update the theme manually by deleting the old theme files on the server and uploading 7.x 3.5 either via ftp or using the file manager on the server. Make sure that you don't delete any custom files you have added.
I'm not sure whether drush updates the theme correctly and this issue only applies to users trying to update using the module updater on the website

It is normal Drupal behaviour to not update modules which aren't enabled - so switching this to "Support request" rather than bug. Given the way Adaptivetheme operates, it should be your subtheme which is enabled, rather than adaptivetheme itself.

Referencing the comment above, this works the same way via drush; after "drush upc adaptivetheme" you'll see a message like "Project has no enabled extensions and can't be updated".

I'm using an old drush with Drupal7 and used "drush dl adaptivetheme" instead to update from 7.x-3.4 to 7.x-3.5. Overwriting existing files is fine; there are no deleted files between these versions.
