All the ads disappeared from display after upgrade from 5.x-1.5 to 5.x-1.7 (the same with 5.x-1.x-dev)

In 5.x-1.5 after creating a ad group I got 2 different blocks: "ad group" and "all active ads in ad group".
Now, in 5.x-1.7 and 5.x-1.x-dev, there is only one block "ad group". Is it supposed to be this way?
I can assign this "ad group" to a region and I do see my ads.
But how can I be sure only active ads are displayed?
After installing 5.x-1.7 I did not have administer>>site configuration>>input filters that was mentioned in 9) of install.txt file and I thought it was a reason.
I tried 5.x-1.x-dev and got the same results.
How to properly update ad module without loosing ads from display?
