This will be my quest of revamping the pimport_import_csv_batch_process function.
We need to do this as this function is kinda loaded with loooots of functionality and it's not that easy to test or extend it.

Ideas? I was thinking that the feeds module does this in a nice way and we could get some "inspiration" from there :-)

I agree that it is an ugly big old function. Let's identify any showstoppers for a 1.0 release, fix them and get a proper release out and rewrite this function for 1.1
