First of all, Linux is open source, but not all open source is Linux. Linux does not make websites; it's an operating system. Drupal can run on both Linux and Windows servers, see http://drupal.org/requirements.

Drupal is an open source content management system and yes, you can use it to build the site you need. In fact, there is a Drupal distribution called Open Atrium that already contains most of the features you mention. You can get it at http://openatrium.com/. (A "Drupal distribution" means that you will get the Drupal core that is available from this site, packaged with modules, configuration and theming to provide all kinds of features out-of-the-box.)
