It would be helpful for new users to have simple and advance modes in Drupal.
Basically, a simple mode would hide advanced configuration options or menu items and switch between certain UI interface like Views and SimpleViews. Advance mode would be the same as the current Drupal.
Action Steps
1) Introduce the configuration option, set it to simple by default.
2) Create an API so modules can use to say, "if Advance mode show this; if Simple mode show that..."

C-LogemannI also like this concept. On my first drupalcamp in cologne (2009) I had a discussion with someone who told me that drupal has to many features. And I told him following the concept of "drupal is the linux of the web" that drupal needs some kind of ubuntu interface but never reduce its flexibility.
