As the Better select module ( http://drupal.org/project/betterselect ) explains, multiselect is difficult for many users, especially those who are less experienced and/or use the system only infrequently.

It is a big usability win if you can show checkboxes to indicate whether a term has been selected or not. First: the signal function of checkboxes is very strong; second: the user can add/remove terms from the selection by clicking the checkbox(es) without using the ctrl/shift select method.

IMHO this does not preclude the module from offering ctrl/shift select of multiple terms: the checkbox functionality can work in addition to the already implemented ctrl+select method.

For a screenshot, see the Better select module linked above.

Ok, I confess. I won't like to see checkboxes in TTS. I know it's the right thing to do, but it seems not much clean for me.

I'm waiting for some more opinions and maybe some tests to implement this feature.

FIxed, now Taxnomy Tree Select have a checkbox or radio box to every term.

Also, the ctrl select method is deprecated, since the normal behavior of checkbox is not uncheck the previous selection even without the use of ctrl key. Shift key to check a series of unchecked boxes is still a feature I want to see (as mentioned here #789720: Enable multiple selections with shift).

Thanks for the request and feel free to give me more suggestions/opinions/bugs/features/money/beer/hugs/etc.

Thank you. Would be nice to have #903222: Option to force selection of child term as well.
