It would be great if the user click anywhere on the picture, not only the zoom-icon. This is a often learned interaction with pictures and some of the newcomers might not recognize that "zoom icon" as being "not part of the picture".
Any cons on that approach?

manuel garcia commentedYou have a point, people are used to clicking on images.
I'm thinking we should also make this feature optional, because I can see this being requested anyway.
I am also thinking that perhaps we should just link the image itself, and forget about the view full link (and icon) - Thoughts?

manuel garcia commentedOK, I figured I would take action on this, so I have comitted the above mentioned changes, we now have an extra setting to enable or disable the linking, and I have removed the link itself with the icon. The icon is still in the sprite though, we'll deal with that later.

eugenmayer commentedHey! Great!
Well i would not remove the icon though - it helps not advanced users to get what could happen. So i would combine both.
manuel garcia commentedYes, I agree. Committed the change that gets the icon within the link itself. I think it even improves accessibility as well as usability.
Thanks again for your input EugenMayer!
