Happens to me now after the upgrade from alpha to beta1. I thinks the reason is that the module does not check the remaining possible runtime. I have 240 seconds but it nevertheless fails with 100 items. Having an fixed item number is not reliable as discussed in past. Please implement a more reliable way like linkchecker or job_queue does.

hass CreditAttribution: hass commentedHm... Finished XML sitemap generation in 61192.9 ms. Memory usage: 40 MB. Strange... cron have a hard limit of 240s and this is much more. Additional the sitemap.xml URL gives me a file not found error. And this finish was nearly 3 hours ago...
