Hi, I would like to let user's in my web to upload only certain types of files. How can I set this to work?? I thought that by only turning on the modules: Archives, Documents, Slideshows and Texts I would only enable those file types but I was able to upload a .exe or a jpeg.
What am I missing??

Look under Administer->Site Configuration->Files->Restrictions. The first field under "All Users" is "Allowed File Extensions". Enter the file types separated by spaces. Save Configuration when you're done making changes.

There is a similar field for each user type if you want to handle by user type.

Closing the issue. It was inactive for a long time & it's related to a Drupal Version which is not supported anymore
