I was working on my site trying to add another block region to it. When I got an error.... header already submitted or something. Anyway it didn't work right so I changed it back....but when I did none of the blocks appear now and I can't even log in because the navigation block isn't right. How would I edit the blocks without having to log in because when I try to go to ..../?g=admin I don't have access because I deleted my history and stuff because I thought that might be the problem.
HELPPPPPP!!!!!!!
If I can't log in my site is lost.

Try going to /q=user and see if you can log in there. If not, report back here for more drastic measures.

This is my second day of Drupal after two years of WordPress.

I was thrilled when I saw how easy it was to delete Login, and equally surprised when it did not
appear on Admin page.

Thanks for your answer, and please add it to the FAQ!

I had the same problem. I can login. No warning that my username/password is wrong, but I still see "User Login" block.

I solved this problem just by clearing recent history at my firefox browser.

Hi Robert,

I badly need your help, I wanted to connect my running website to my WAMP locahost. After such, i installed it successfully but i received notices of undefined index for some modules, then i found out i cannot found login fields for my running website. I've this thought, it might be the notices of undefined index causes the issue:(. I read forums then a common solutions were discussed is to re install drupal. I did, still the same thing:(.

Please help

desm0n’s picture

its not ?g but ?q so ?q=admin would likely have worked.

To log back in use http://www.yoursite.com/?q=user

d.deman’s picture

I just want to say thanks the q user works great. i deleted the main theme ( by accident) and the q user function got me logged in..I just didnt want to re-install..Thanks again:)

herudea’s picture

I tried http://www.mysite.com/drupal5.5/?q=admin (admin is the user name, and drupal is installed in that folder)
no such luck. any thoughts?

nicl’s picture

try:

www.mysite.com/?q=user to login in, Nb by 'user' I mean user not a variable for your actual user name.

OR you may have clean URLs enabled so try: www.mysite.com/user or www.mysite.com/admin .

Or try the same but with the /drupal5.5/ added into the mix.

-

If theming is the issue then try changing the name of the default theme in the themes folder as a temporary measure - drupal will switch to another theme then.

rpeters’s picture

Can't Login used ?q=user nothing just reloads the page. I even tried changing to the default theme didn't help.

So I was trying out this custom Drupal theme called 'd15' which has a block function 'Switch User'. Using that, i switched to a user (different 'Role' with limited access, i.e. no access to admin_menu or navigation menu). Now I can't log out of this user and log back in with admin to have access to the admin_menu.

Any ideas to get out of this weird situation? I really don't want to reinstall everything again, I did a lot of development. :(. Please help!

Tried to upgrade a friend's site from 5.7 to 6. Something well wrong and now this is what I get when I try to view my site or sign in:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: user_access() in /home/virtual/site8/fst/var/www/html/accesseo.com/includes/menu.inc on line 1376

Is this fixable?

victor_liv’s picture

I was asked by a friend to modify/add some fields on his website and i was playing around the date fields. tryed to add a new one and then the login failed. the problem now is that i cannot log in at all. the log in button does not appear on the site. Only page not found. I tryed the /user, /admin, ?q=admin, /q=user. the feedback is either page not found or Access denied(for admin).
I am new at this but willing to learn so please help me !
thank you

Take a look at what nicl posted earlier in this thread:

I was having a problem with any user logging into a drupal 5.23 site. I initially reset the admin password thinking it was just me. But then looked at the database and found that the Sessions table was in use for some strange reason. I used PhpMyAdmin to empty/truncate the table and was able to login after that.

shesh87’s picture

So I've tried to log back in using:
www.mysite.com/?q=user
www.mysite.com/user
www.mysite.com/admin
and nothing happens! The page either reloads or says access denied.

I also tried erasing all the subthemes so drupal will switch to the default theme, but still nothing.

The page gives me no form boxes to in put my login information.

PLEASE HELP!

DrupalDan’s picture

I imported my site files and DB to my local server and then I found that I can't login through the login block or the page at the url at http://localhost/user. It's like the page is just reloaded.

When I tried to login via the login block, the page is reloaded and the url then turns into:
http://localhost/index?destination=node

FYI: index is the alias I set for the front page.

If I log in from http://localhost/user, the page doesn't reload and the url doesn't change.

The only way I can login is through http://localhost/?q=user

Before I uploaded my site to the web, by which I mean my site is a local one, I can log in through the block and both urls.

When I put my site online, I can log through the block and the two urls as well.

I just don't know why I can't log in unless I try http://localhost/?q=user after I imported my files and db to my local server.

Any thoughts?

Just FYI, it is VERY possible to get locked out when theming where NONE of the solutions offered here will work. NONE. This is a bad design that should be fixed imho. There should be some fail safe where you can do something to get a log in screen. In my case I am running D7 and theming with Omega subtheme and there is no way I can log in. Zero, zip zilch. I have tried every solution in this thread and other threads including renaming theming folders and all the other painful solutions.

For me the 1 and only solution is also the most painful of all. That is going directly into MySQL and changing the default theme in there so I can get a log in screen. That is the one and ONLY solution that I found that will work in some cases when none of the other easier solutions work. This sucks and should never happen and should be fixed imho.

Rifwing’s picture

how did you fix the problem?

Rifwing’s picture

Unable to get form to enter my user name and password, all i see when i type mysite/user is: "Create new account Log in (active tab) Request new password". I'm missing the actual form and the log in button to the bottom of the screen!! hope someone can help!thanks

Donkzilla’s picture

I tried all the above, none of which worked. In the end I solved the problem by using drush to clear the cache via a Linux terminal: https://www.drupal.org/node/42055

amckee’s picture

I had this issue too. To log in I had to use this URL instead: www.yoursite.com/?q=user.
As for the underlying issue, I am not sure, but this allowed me to log in and look into it further.

Guys, I think I'm going to have a similar problem. I'm a newbie to Drupal, coming from a coding background, I'm trying to build a couple of custom themes for Drupal and I'm testing them on my machine's localhost. The issue is; I can't find a way to login to my admin drupal account from the other browsers on my system(the browsers I didn't use in installing drupal) once I load any of my custom themes. Each time I try any of the clean or "dirty" urls listed above to allow a person log in, I just see my website(the custom theme) and a change in the page's "title" on the browser's tab bar saying, "Page not found" and I feel if this PC ever gets lost of if I ever have to migrate to a new macine, or if I put a website online and have to make changes without my PC in possession, I'm really screwed. Any one have a solution?

Try checking your $base_url and $cookie_domain variables. Those may be holding values that are referring a different environment. If you don't know how to adjust those, try commenting them out and give it another try.
