In some themes the calendar block ends up wider than other blocks and can cause layout issues. This patch adds a setting to the module configuration allowing site admins to select the number of letters to use for calendar block day headings (use 1, that is e.g., S M T W T F S, for narrowest block).
Note: I've generated this patch on a Windows machine and, while I've attempted to correct the line-endings, I'm not sure if it's right....

killes@www.drop.org commentedThe patch does not conform to the localisation guidelines. I am however not generally opposed to such a feature. Since we have moved the "start of week" setting to Drupal core, this setting should live there, too.
