One thing Flexinode has that CCK doesn't, that I think is essential to making a truly flexible content creator, is a field for adding audio/video content. With the way flexinode works, I think there could be some nice arranging of information, like displaying ID3 tags automatically and displaying them on the way that the creator wants. I'm sure other people would also be interested in this sort of thing.
Thanks for reading!

rory-- commentedBump.
Anybody else interested in this? I'm pretty sure it's not a duplicate, I ran a search first.
Veggieryan commentedThis is so important. I can't believe there isn't more talk about it. I was thinking there should be a "wrapper" for the current audio/video modules. They would create a RELATED audio or video nodes.... AND display their contents (a thumbnail plus play button) in the CCK node view. This would require a related image node wrapper for the audio and video module as well... ALSO the upload field would appear in the cck node add form just like it does on the audio and video nodes.... both should allow for linking to external media as the video module does.. because that is SUPER POWERFUL.
perhaps it is best to write helper modules and use the existing nodes to do the heavy lifting..
or just start from scratch and learn from what audio and video modules are doing?
thanks for looking...,
ryan.

rory-- commentedAnybody?
Veggieryan commentedtruly needed.
at least allow us to wrap the audio/video/image upload field and auto-create a releated media node whose thumbnail and teaser and neatly displayed within the body of the cck node?
pretty please?
thanks
ryan.

rory-- commentedAnother thing that would be cool would be allowing the grouping of various types of nodes under another type- say, like a gallery, or a playlist.
This would really expand the features of CCK tenfold. Think about it- a book consisting of chapters? A magazine? For me (the nerd) a D&D book composed of various types of nodes?
Maybe I'll add that as a separate request later.

yched commentedComment #5 : Er... Doesn't nodereference.module already allows trhat ?
rory-- commentedFrom what I've used nodereference for (I've been away for a month so things may have changed), it doesn't let people add TO a node. i.e., if you have a node that can refer to image-based nodes, people can't add TO your "gallery," only the creator can do that.
Also, does nodereference let you decide HOW a node displays your work? Another thing I thought (could be wrong) was that all nodereference let you give was a list of links. That doesn't quite work for a gallery...

maastrix commentedAny news on this? Trying to fix my ultimate (b/v)logging tool using Drupal but I can't manage to allow audio, text, images and video to be published and all the nodes to have custom templates. I want this so all my audio/video/etc nodes look all the same...
Looks like a simple thing to me but I can't figger it out...
rory-- commentedHopefully, since CCK is core in 5.0, the Audio module for that will integrate itself...
*crosses fingers*
Comment #10
ardas commentedAre there any audio/video fields for CCK already developed or at least in plans ?

3dsoft commentedIt would be real nice if we could use the video module from fax8 within cck.

yched commenteddrewish - your comment #14 probably did not bring you many funders : you're liking to this thread :-)
I guess the right link is http://drupal.org/node/93197
Comment #17
rory-- commentedDrewish's project takes a bit more precedence than this one. I can't code. ^_^
