betadog commentedHi Dave,
don’t know if you’ve started already. Out of curiosity i started translating the pot-file posted here yesterday - my first steps in module translation. Maybe you want to use some my stuff.
Regards
Tim
Comment #2
dddave commentedI am going to take a look. Thx.
Comment #3
dbeall commentedThere was a few small changes which in turn had changed some line numbers, and a few small text changes that were not translated yet. This template from 6.x-2.x-dev 2010-Jan-16
Attached is the updated template with the translated strings that betadog had posted.
The text editor replaced a few characters with ?.. I was using wordpad, probably should be using notepad++ , I wish all these editors were up to speed(microsoft seems to always be the problem).
Comment #4
dddave commentedOk, I took a look and there are a some stylistic problems with the work done by betadog. (Reference: http://code.google.com/p/drupal-de/wiki/Hinweise)
We don't want to use "Sie..."-constructions. This is a typical "beginner"mistake I made too. ;)
I am going to use some of betadogs work and post my translation for review within the next days.
Comment #5
dddave commentedThe translation is at about 70%. I was held up a little but I hope to finish a complete first draft within the next days. There are a couple of formulations I am not sure how to translate best which might need some collective effort.
I also noted a bunch of inconsistencies in the original strings (ID/Id; Galley; missing .'s at the end of proper sentences) and of course used the corrected translation.
Comment #6
dbeall commentedThat sounds great, we need to make note of the # s that are wrong so we can get them into the module. I sent some small fixes to Justintime today.. leading spaces, Caps and stuff like that.
This will be the first translation for the module.. Neat!
Comment #7
dddave commentedHere are some formulations I really cannot translate well. Suggestions are higly welcome.
parent Gallery ->
Submit ->
Landing Page ->
Comment #8
designwork commentedHi ddave,
in German i would suggest
parent Gallery -> Übergeordnete Gallery
Submit -> Senden or Speichern
Landing Page -> Galerie Einstiegs Seite or Galerie Hauptseite
Cheers
Dirk
Comment #9
dddave commentedThx for the feedback.
Last question:
"Use named anchors...." ->
.po-file for testing coming soon.
Comment #10
dddave commentedAn alle Deutschen:
Bitte auf Fehler und Unstimmigkeiten aller Art prüfen.
Tippfehler und andere Kleinigkeiten können gerne direkt mit einem neuen Upload behoben werden. Strukturelle Fehler bitte zur Diskussion stellen. ;)
This is the first complete (99%) translation. It needs review from native speakers before it can be included. Two strings are left untranslated (the second because I cannot locate its origin).
Comment #11
dbeall commentedThe second one is help text in views, but I think views will change in next release.
It is interesting that some words are the same as English.
Gute Arbeit dddave, looks like German to me, lol
Comment #12
Whoppy commentedHi , I found out that the right german translation of "Gallery" is "Galerie" and not "Gallerie". So this has to be changed in the current translation.
Best regards, Whoppy
Comment #13
dddave commentedLol,
that is a pretty embarassing mistake. I am going to up an up-to-date version soon.
Comment #14
dddave commentedOne string is left untranslated because I don't really know how to translate it. Enjoy!
Comment #15
dddave commentedAll the work is now done on localize.drupal.org.
