here is one i can answer
hi i am no drupal geek but I am a Drupal user as admin, breifly I dunno how to code but I can do a lot of things and this... I can.
So first you create a node.
Then, you edit it. In the five chec boxes ot top of edity screen you see a crete revision check box. Check it then save it.
Then go in your edit screen again. You now have a revisions tab on top (with track, see, edit, structure, etc.). From there you will be able to revert to the previous revision of your choice.
Hope it answers

how to make the box checked by default?
Do you know how to make it so that the "Create new revision" box is checked by default, whenever creating or editing a page?
Checked by default
Try going to Admin > settings > Content-types: you can select there the content-type you need default revisions for and enable them as default in the 'Publishing options' section (there is a checkbox).
I am investigating on this too...this is a quick solution, still not ideal, since in my CCK content types autenticated users can change this from the node form (and for example setting a reviion as published, or promoted to front.).
It would be nice if the default option setted would really be the only option available for users.
Any idea about this?
