I made a little change.

  • If you are using a different administration theme than your default theme, you have to place the mimemail.tpl.php into that theme folder.
  • To embed images into emails you have to use relative paths. Images with absolute path will be available as remote content.

I think this could be committed.

I think this issue could be the base to update documentation, so we can mark other issues aiming to README updating as duplicates and we can do the work here. Otherwise the separate changes and patches will make more difficult to follow the requests and commit patches.

I am changing the title and attaching a new patch referring to this #319350: usage section in readme is incomplete issue.

Actually noticed that the readme is updated. I just had alpha1 instead of 2. This still being worked on or should it be closed?

I would love to see your updated README.txt, since it didn't change for more than 4 years...not even a little bit. Not even now in a 6.x-1.0-alpha2.

Same for Drupal 6.x ?????

(All I want to do is add a background colour to the email... The documentation for this module is poor. Have spent 18 hours trying to learn how to do this - it will not beat me...)

Then you will need to learn to search effectively.

The module includes a mail.css file, this is in the README.txt. About the background color, there was an issue #346270: Background color and the information is in the handbook at Prevent CSS style collision which is the first search result, see here.
