it would be nice to see results in nice charts, e.g. through integration with http://drupal.org/project/charts or similiar

mario_prkos CreditAttribution: mario_prkos commentedThank you for your posts any feedback is welcome. It can be done but I want you from you guys to tell me what you have in mind. Do you want pie charts, bar charts, do you want that those charts only results or it is just additional features you can get by click button for example results? I always want feedback from community because I maintain this module for community, so I encourage you to say about your needs and problems even if it is not about pollfield maybe I can help.
Best regards, Mario!

Nice to hear:-)
1. after voting, results should be shown using chart,
2. There should be an option to choose chart type for each poll in module config,
3. Voting reports in admin sections could be also configurable (but this feature is not urgent)
have you seen http://drupal.org/project/charts?

mario_prkos CreditAttribution: mario_prkos commentedI already used API charts for developing some other module. In my opinion I will put option in poll settings which user can choose standard output (as it is now) or some of chart types listed in drop down meni. I can use different kind of chart: google chart, open flash, flot(jquery). Google charts are easy and effective but there is not interactivity (there are just pictures). Openflash is OK but personaly I am not fan of flash in general for many reasons. Flot is my favorit it is based on jquery and look nice and it can be customized and has interactivity (zoom, select etc.). Also it is published under MIT license and it can be used without restriction.
If you want you can check out those charts and tell me what you think is best to put.

portulacaImages aren't good unless you add the relevant information in the image alt attribute, so people who block images or use screen readers can still get the content. Maybe there's even a better way?

Thank you for developing this module, I hope to use it successfully in my current project.

cyc CreditAttribution: cyc commentedI cannot find anyworking example of flot, only static captures. So for me, open flash v.2 is the best:
http://www.teethgrinder.co.uk/open-flash-chart-2/
there's drupal open flash api module: http://drupal.org/project/open_flash_chart_api
but it would be the best if user can choose which to use, so integration with http://drupal.org/project/charts seems to be a good solution..

This working example of flot plots you can check out. Just unpack them and try. Open flash is also good and google charts too. Yes, I agree with you that user can choose will be best option. I tried charts and it is still in early phase off development and I am not sure if it can meet my road map by pace of development. Yes, agree that it will be nice to have this kind API and it will be good solution. I think, for now I will try to use those separate API-s for different type charts.

mario_prkos CreditAttribution: mario_prkos commentedWhat do you exactly have in mind? For now there is no straight forward (without coding) way to this with pollfield but I am working on that issue. But it will be great to share your ideas with us how you plan to use pollfield or web form with charts.
Cheers
