I'm might be taking an assignment to redesign my college's main newspaper's online presence over this summer, and I'm considering using either Drupal, Textpattern, or a new version of their homebrew system to do so. There are two main problems with Drupal and Textpattern: I need to be able to make "Issues" - weekly, special, etc - and be able to only show articles from that issue on the front page, etc - just like a normal newspaper. And I need to make the issue not appear until all articles are proofed & ready, just like our current system can.

Is there any way to do this with Drupal which doesn't require a ton of hacking? I do have a ton of experience with web dev, but I don't want to spend a lot of time making something work when there's a better option.
