Hey,

in your feature list, there are three very interesting featured listed:

  • Hide format tips.
  • Hide more format tips link.
  • Hide format selection for nodes, comments, and blocks seperately, forcing the default to be used.

I installed the module and can use it for setting input formats per node type, but I can't find the featured mentioned above. Where do I set them up?

Thanks,
forschi

They are in user permissions. (admin/user/permissions)

That wasn't helpful. We've got over 100 modules with 6 roles active on our site, so could you be more specific *which* permission for *which* module is the one to turn off?

Thanks.

I don't really like your attitude. Maybe you are having a bad day because you have obviously not read the readme file nor looked at the simple and obvious solution of looking at the permissions for the Better Formats module. You know the module that you are asking about.

Actually for me, when logged in as superuser (user one) the format tips still show up. It does not show up for the roles based on the permissions that can be set by this module, but people will be confused about this unless it is resolved for superusers, which may not be worth the effort. Putting a note near the download page should mitigate the problem as well.

@vividgates:

That is as designed. In Drupal, user 1 is a super user that gets all permissions and you can not revoke those for security reasons otherwise you would lock yourself out. As in all systems that use a super user, you are not meant to use user 1 unless you need to. For all other work you should have your own user that has admin level permissions and role(s) attached. This is goes well beyond the BF module and if users do not grasp it, which I am sure many don't, they need to learn best practices instead of BF or any other module violating the best practice.

Works very well, thanks a lot for this very useful module.

Thanks for responding, but please update your readme to make it more usable. The features could perhaps be grouped by the different configuration pages.

Also would be nice if one can hide formatting tips at the input formats instead of permissions.

For example, I would really want to hide it for the comments section which uses plain text but keep it visible elsewhere.
