I am unable to find the link setting described on the documentation page to turn off post information independent of the theme settings.
"Display link information
This displays link author, publish date, and revision date. This is independent of the theme setting."
This can still be done as usual on the Theme>Configure page.
I am not sure of this feature was removed and if the documentation needs to be updated.
Thanks,
Izzy

NancyDruI just marked the documentation page as needing updates, which I will try to do soon. That feature and setting no longer exists, as I posted in another issue.

jonathan1055 CreditAttribution: jonathan1055 commentedThis is the oldest open Web Links issue, and as I have decided to trackle the backlog I thought I would start at the far back end. This issue started on 10 June 2009, the day after 6.x-2.0 was released
The documentation page is https://www.drupal.org/node/273907 and the specific settings page mentioned above is https://www.drupal.org/node/289540
How do we want to do this? Should the documentation pages have separate 6.x and 7.x sections? Are they used by many people?
I've set the status to 'active' as there was no patch to be ported.

jonathan1055 CreditAttribution: jonathan1055 commentedSorry, correction to "This is the oldest open Web Links issue". I meant it was the issue with oldest 'last updated' date, ie the one which has not been updated for the longest time, so appears at the very end of the default issue listing page.

izmeez CreditAttribution: izmeez commentedThanks for tackling the issues. It's been a very long time since I was dealing with this.
As i recall it is related to displaying the submitted by information.
In the D6 version of weblinks the option to turn this off did not appear to exist. However, D6 had a theme setting to turn this off but D7 does not include that in the theme settings and requires use of other modules to control the submitted by info.
So the question is in the D7 version is there an option or documentation on how to change display of the submitted by info?
I hope this helps somewhat.

NancyDruIt's on the content type, under "Display settings."

GStegemann CreditAttribution: GStegemann commented@Nancy: correct, that's it. Thanks. Link is: admin/structure/types/manage/weblinks.
These settings are not really Web Links specific. That is something how D7 works in general.
But anyway, the documentation pages need to be updated for D7 changes. E.g. the section about Other Modules is outdated and the D7 specific setting changes are not described yet.
I would say yes. There could be a common part, followed by a D6 and D7 section.
I really don't know.

NancyDruThere are still more 6.x users than 7.x:
