There are no instructions on how to go about generating an XML Sitemap file. That should be in either the INSTALL.txt or the README.txt. I cannot access the sitemap.xml file, as it says I have improper permissions. Moreover, the file is not even generated (by looking at my FTP folders).
Ive successfully installed the module, configured it slightly, and have enabled 2 of the search engines, both of which require no key. I'm just curious about how or where I'm supposed to see this thing. What am I supposed to do to make sure it's working? I can't find anything about this and it's poorly documented.
It seems like a great module considering what it automates, but needs more documentation.

apadernoThis will be postponed until a official release will be made.
Anyway, take in mind that the module does not create any file, if not the cache file used to temporary keep the content of the site map.

Anonymous (not verified) CreditAttribution: Anonymous commentedFair enough, but how do I know it's working?
Can I use the generated content (if not a file, whatever it is) to be displayed as data on a page for my viewers to see?
Well, as long as there is something on the site generating a sitemap I'll be happy, really... but I have no idea how to tell.

apadernoIt's enough to use a browser, and browse the address associated with the site map. Take in mind that the site map is accessible only from the anonymous users.

apadernoIt needs to be done, but not before the code has been completely fixed, and we can have the first official release.

Anonymous (not verified) CreditAttribution: Anonymous commentedHave you read the present text in those files? It has to be done before an official release can happen. It doesn't have to be done before the BETA release though.

apadernoThe patch is fine.
I would rather list the search engines in alphabetical order, just to not make it seem ordered by importance.

Anonymous (not verified) CreditAttribution: Anonymous commentedSetting to next version as an active task. INSTALL.txt needs updated with UPGRADING instructions.

gobinathmAs D6 is in EOL, I believe there won't be any support / fix for a problem identified in 6x going forward. Hence i guess this issue can be closed.
