Problem/Motivation

I'd like to raise the general question of how the Radix will handle Drupal Canvas. The current Radix SDCs are either incompatible with Canvas or, while they work, aren't really usable.

Take image props as an example: https://project.pages.drupalcode.org/canvas/sdc-components/props/#image-object
They need an entirely different definition to get the right field widget in the Canvas editor.

Of course, other themes have also faced this challenge before—they might be worth checking out: https://www.drupal.org/project/kern_ux/issues/3581757

Furthermore, there are many Radix SDCs that make no sense to use in Drupal Canvas. They should be flagged with noUi: true. (see: https://www.drupal.org/node/3542594)

We've considered using https://www.drupal.org/project/sdc_components, but I don't like the idea of defining the same Bootstrap SDCs in two places.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

Totally agree with that.

In my eyes the other points are also valid.

What's the maintainer's feedback?

Re #2 https://www.drupal.org/project/bootstrap_components would be a further alternative, but I agree there should be one source! And I think the theme is the better place maybe.
