Eric (sikofitt) Eric Wheeler (sikofitt)  A possible use case has come up for me for a university proprietary research members site.  Basically big name companies pay 100k+ to get access to new research that has not been released to the public, including papers and videos and a annual / bi-annual research event.  When a company joins (lets say intel for example) anybody that registers with the email address intel.com (after verifying) gets complete access. (edited)

3️⃣ Getting CRM to beta.

jdleonard @Steve Ayers and I are hoping to lock in the architecture and release CRM Beta 1 by October 27.
jdleonard Starting with Beta 1, we'd be supporting version-to-version upgrades, making it feasible for early adopters to dogfood for real projects.

Bluegeek9 We probably want a new release of the name project. CRM's composer.json has Name's dev release because of bugs in the current release.

4️⃣ CRM + Commerce proof of concept for membership dues

jdleonard I want to get the Zilker Neighborhood Association off of our somewhat nutty Zeffy/Zapier/Xero/Mailchimp integration for dues payments to a simpler and better UX and I plan to use Drupal Commerce with Stripe to facilitate this.
jdleonard Currently, Zeffy provides offsite payment forms and requires the (expensive) use of Zapier to automate getting data from those submissions elsewhere. We currently use Zapier to create/update Contacts and Invoices in Xero (cloud accounting) and to create/update Contacts in Mailchimp.
jdleonard My minimum short-term vision is to use Drupal Commerce to add on-site (from a UX perspective) Stripe payments and sync Contact information (including tags like "Member 2025") with Mailchimp. (edited)
jdleonard Xero supports a feed from Stripe to capture incoming payments (though some additional work will be needed to segregate dues payments from general donations).
jdleonard The implementation needs to support paying dues for multiple individuals.
It'll be easier to implement this with each individual as a User (even if they don't log in), but if possible I'd like to use CRM Contacts instead.
Seeking anyone interested in contributing to this real-world use of CRM!

jdleonard On last week's Zoom call (which I missed), the team discussed creating a lightweight CRM Events module to represent events and afford for registering Contacts for events (as opposed to Users).

estevenson I'd be willing to try, but could you give me more guidance on what you think the end product should look like? Aka - creating a new spec document for CRM Events in the member platform google drive, or something else?

6️⃣ I ran a BOF on Member Platform  at DrupalCon Vienna. Unfortunately, nobody came along. I think there was quite a lot happening at the same time.However, are there any issues that would be good for novice developers? If so, I can try to push them forward during mentored contribution day tomorrow.

jdleonard I regret that I don't have time to prepare any. Anyone else?
