[Meta] Member Platform meetings - Next: May 21 (Zoom); May 28 (Slack)

Introduction

The Member Platform project is a community effort seeking to provide a Drupal-native ecosystem of tools to meet the needs of membership organizations globally.

We meet every week on Thursday starting at 10:00am CST/CDT (search for this in your local timezone) alternating between:

• Zoom video meetings; and
• 24 hour asynchronous Slack meetings in the #member-platform channel (Join Drupal Slack first) -- perfect for participating from any timezone!

All meetings are posted as child issues. For Zoom meetings, Zoom details are available in the #member-platform Slack channel, in recurring calendar invites, and on the Drupal Core calendar (a bit of a misnomer).

Please do not comment on this issue except to add a new child issue for an upcoming meeting and change the title here. Thanks!

Receive a calendar invite for meetings

DM your email address to jdleonard on Drupal Slack, or JD's contact form to be added to recurring calendar invites for the Zoom and/or Slack meetings or you can simply monitor the #member-platform Slack channel (suggest adjusting your notification preferences for that channel).

Pings about Slack meetings will be sent at the start of the meeting in the #member-platform Slack channel.

Next meeting

The next meeting's date is in this issue's title, and should have a child issue.

In advance of a Zoom meeting (and maybe also Slack meetings), agenda items will be added to the child issue (or linked Google Doc), added to the recurring calendar invite, and posted in the #member-platform Slack channel. Feel free to propose (in the Slack channel or child issue or future meeting's Google Doc) an agenda item for the next meeting at any time before the meeting.

Slack Meeting Agenda Starter

The following is how we usually start our Slack meetings.

This meeting:
➤ Is for initiative contributors and anyone interested in the initiative. Learn more: memberplatform.org
➤ Usually happens every other Thursday at 10:00am CST/CDT and lasts for 24 hours. On the other Thursdays we have a Zoom meeting at the same time. About our meetings, meeting notes, and how to get notified of new meetings: drupal.org/i/3505938
➤ Is done over chat here on Slack.
➤ Happens in threads, which you can follow to be notified of new replies even if you don’t comment in the thread. You may also join the meeting later and participate asynchronously!
➤ Has a public agenda anyone can add to.
➤ Transcript will be exported and posted to the meeting issue. For anonymous comments, start with a :bust_in_silhouette: emoji. To take a comment or thread off the record, start with a :no_entry_sign: emoji.

Procedure for capturing a Slack meeting's notes as a child issue

The steps are:

1. Install the Drupal Meeting Parser Chrome plugin
2. Make a child issue from this issue for the meeting
3. Follow the parser's instructions and paste the meeting notes into the issue
4. Set the issue to "Needs Review"
5. A maintainer will add credit and mark the issue as "Fixed"

Procedure for capturing a Zoom meeting's notes as a child issue

The steps are:

1. Download the video recording from Fathom and upload to the Google Drive folder for the meeting
2. Copy the link to the video in Google Drive and add at the top of the human notes in the meeting's Google Doc with link text "Recording"
3. Copy the Summary from Fathom and paste at the bottom of the meeting's Google Doc. Replace the top level heading text you just pasted with a Heading 1 styled "Fathom AI Summary".
4. Copy the Transcript from Fathom and paste at the bottom of the meeting's Google Doc. Replace the top level heading text you just pasted with a Heading 1 styled "Fathom AI Transcript".
5. Install the Docs™ to Markdown add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace
6. Open the Google Doc for the needed Zoom meeting from Google Drive
7. Manually replace any smart chips in the Google Doc with something compatible with HTML (e.g. a regular link)
8. Select everything from (and including) <h2>Who is here?</h2> through the end of the Doc
9. Navigate to the "Extensions" menu then "Docs™ to Markdown" then "Convert"
10. In the sidebar that opens, check "Demote headings" then click the "HTML" button
11. Copy the resulting HTML
12. Make a child issue from this issue for the meeting if one doesn't already exist
13. Paste the copied HTML into the issue summary
14. Manually replace any images by uploading the images to the issue and using the WYSIWYG image button to include the image in the issue
15. Set the issue to "Needs Review"
16. A maintainer will add credit and mark the issue as fixed
