Override Default Off By Default

Right now the override default checkbox is checked by default on the node creation page and I would like it to be off by default otherwise having a default value in the first place would be kind of pointless. I can't seem to figure out an easy way to do this myself so hopefully someone with a better grasp of PHP can help in this case.
